Types of Pharmaceutical Distributors and Wholesalers
Pharmaceutical distributors are simply intermediate personnel who ship pharmaceutical products from manufacturers to pharmacies, hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Pharmaceutical distributors play an important role in the provision of medications to the right patients at the right time safely and efficiently and help hospitals, clinics and other long-term care facilities keep their medicine cabinets fully stocked.

Pharmaceutical wholesalers purchase the medications and other pharmaceutical products directly from the manufacturers either for storage in warehouses or for distribution throughout their designated areas.

There are several types of pharmaceutical distributors and wholesalers:

Single party pharma PCD franchise distributors or wholesalers

       Ethical/branded Pharma products distributors

Generic Pharma Products Distributors

A generic medication is created exactly as an existing approved branded medication having the exact same dosage, strength, form, safety and way of administration. The only difference is that they don’t have a specific brand name associated with them instead they have a generic name which in most cases the name of the active ingredient. They sell at much lower prices as compared to branded medication. Generic distribution does not have a fixed sales margin and sales enhancement companies usually hire pharmaceutical sales representatives.
